Alfredo Brizuela, PE, CGC

Al Brizuela stands as a leading figure in the realms of architectural, structural, and civil engineering nationwide. With over 35 years of experience, his expertise spans a wide array of services, ranging from construction science and management to hurricane preparedness, building inspections, and design evaluations. With meticulous on-site structural analysis as a cornerstone of his investigations, Al Brizuela and his team conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments, including subsurface structural evaluations, indoor air quality examinations, and analysis of structural integrity in the wake of various damages such as those caused by storms, hurricanes, water, fire, plumbing issues, decay, collapse, leakage, or structural vibrations.

At the core of our business philosophy lies a robust failure analysis program tailored to provide litigation support. This program aims to carefully trace the sequence of events leading to property damage or failure. Representing the "Insured," Al Brizuela and his team diligently uphold the law to ensure that insurance companies extend comprehensive coverage, addressing disputes regarding the extent and causes of damage. The ultimate objective is to unveil the true causes of damage, grounded in scientific methods and empirical evidence.

With a corporate career spanning over three decades, Al Brizuela has spearheaded projects for prestigious institutions and landmarks such as Miami International Airport (M.I.A.), The Miami Herald, Metro-Dade Transit, Biltmore Hotel, Museum Tower, Freedom Tower, Jackie Gleason Theater, Miami Children's Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, Grand Bay Hotel, Wyndham Hotel, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, among numerous others. Holding licensure as a Florida engineer since 1983, Mr. Brizuela is authorized to operate in multiple states, including New York, New Jersey, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Additionally, he is a licensed General Contractor and Registered Professional Industrial Hygienist, and a distinguished member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Our Services

Forensic engineering

Applies engineering principles to investigate failures with legal implications, providing expert testimony and analysis for safety and accountability in construction, manufacturing, and transportation. As Forensic Engineers, we employ specialized equipment including drone-mounted thermal imaging cameras to ensure that we catalog each and every issue correctly.

Creating sound structures and infrastructures that meet our societal needs. We provide consultations for the designing and planning of a broad range of projects including the construction of buildings, bridges, roads, dams and airports.

Building Recertification

Consists of methodical inspections by our state licensed engineers and contractors. The following areas are observed: Visual examination of the building at first • We will provide you with a preliminary list of potential issues that we may find necessary to address. The Miami-Dade program combines a phase one and phase two milestone inspection into a single event • Combining both phases is more efficient and less complicated for the building owner • Use professional judgment for performing nondestructive and/or destructive testing, when necessary • Performing load testing, when necessary • Reviewing engineering documents, if available • Searching for violations and unsafe cases • Reviewing prior building recertification reports, if applicable and available. And submitting all required reports to the city for approval and compliance.

Structural Integrity Reserve Study

A Structural Integrity Reserve Study (SIRS) is a thorough, non-invasive examination of critical infrastructure within a building. It assesses the structural safety and estimates potential repair or replacement costs. Florida law mandates the inclusion of specific components in this study and requires adequate reserve funds for their maintenance by December 31, 2024 and then every 10 years thereafter.

Construction Management
